Apple reportedly planning to release five new Macs in 2022

The year ahead is expected to see Apple unveil at least five new Macs according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, including a new version of the entry-level MacBook Pro, high-end iMac, a new Mac Pro with Apple silicon, and more.

In Gurman’s “Power On” newsletter earlier this month the reporter suggested that Apple is working on a new high-end iMac to replace the current 27-inch Intel model, a redesigned MacBook Air powered by a new M2 processor, an updated Mac mini, a new version of the entry-level MacBook Pro, and a new Mac Pro with Apple silicon, all of which are expected to arrive before the end of next year.

Reports have suggested that Apple’s first Mac release of 2022 will be a new 27-inch “iMac Pro” featuring a mini-LED display supporting 120Hz ProMotion refresh rates which will arrive in spring, seeing Apple give the machine the same forward-thinking design as the 24-inch model that was introduced last April.

Apple’s redesigned MacBook Air is expected to see one of the most radical redesigns of 2022, with concepts created by leaker Jon Prosser suggesting that the machine will get a MacBook Pro-style notch, MagSafe charging, white bezels, and more. Also expected to see a radical new redesign in 2022 is the Mac mini, which is supposedly getting a new “plexiglass-like” top and aluminium enclosure.
