Apple opens relocated Apple The Grove store in Los Angeles

Apple has opened its new, relocated retail store within The Grove in Los Angeles, featuring Apple’s first-ever mirrored ceiling Apple Store design, large tree-filled avenues where customers can shop Apple’s latest products, and a large video wall and Forum, home to Today at Apple sessions, and more.

Originally opened in 2002, The Grove has been one of Apple’s most popular stores, having welcomed more than 27 million visitors in the past 19 years. Over time Apple has outgrown the store it once occupied. Relocating across the street, the new Apple Store in The Grove is twice the size of the original store it replaces, “redesigned to be a new gathering place for the Los Angeles community to discover Apple’s products and services, get support, and participate in free Today at Apple sessions,” says Apple.

Apple CEO Tim Cook joined Apple’s Senior Vice President of Retail + People, Deirdre O’Brien on Friday to welcome visitors through the store’s doors, located in the open-air plaza of The Grove.

Visitors were greeted with special Apple The Grove t-shirts, which featured an Apple logo graphic designed ahead of the store’s grand opening and used on construction hoardings to hide the store’s interior during construction.

American singer-songwriter Valerie June was a special guest at the store’s opening, performing live while customers explored the store and queued for selfies with Tim Cook and the Apple team.
