AppleCare+ upgrade now available up to a year after initial device purchase in U.S. and Canada

iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch users in the United States and Canada now have up to a year after the purchase of their devices to purchase and subscribe to AppleCare+, reports Bloomberg.

Previously, AppleCare+ was only available up to 60 days after the initial purchase of a device, but Apple is said to be informing employees in-store and at its support centers that the company will now extend the length of time customers have to join the service, saying that the extension offers “another opportunity to protect their device and have access to all the ‌AppleCare‌+ benefits.”

Customers wishing to purchase AppleCare+ will be required to have their devices screened by a retail employee to check for damage prior to the purchase. The extension is only available for customers who pay in full or pay monthly installments using Apple Card.
