Apple to send 6.1-inch iPhone 12 models into production in July
Apple will begin sending its 6.1-inch iPhone 12 models into production in July, according to a report from Taiwanese supply chain publication DigiTimes that claims the two devices will be entering mass production prior to the rumored 5.4-inch entry-level iPhone 12 and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro.
Rumors suggest Apple will release two 6.1-inch iPhone 12 models later this year, predecessors to the current-generation 6.1-inch iPhone 11 and 5.8-inch iPhone 11 Pro, with it believed the devices will use touch modules outsourced from other supply chain partners as Samsung takes a large portion of the OLED displays destined for this year’s new iPhone 12 lineup.
It is widely rumored Apple will push the launch of this year’s new iPhone models back from September to October, with supply constraints caused by the novel coronavirus to blame for the launch delay.
