Leaked ‘iPhone 12’ schematics detail smaller notch

An alleged schematic for the “iPhone 12” has been shared by leaker Jon Prosser, detailing the smaller TrueDepth camera system expected to arrive with this year’s new iPhone models.

Prosser has shared what appears to be a photograph of a CAD drawing of the new device alongside a second illustration, which is believed to be a mockup created based on the original, showing the placement of the components in the updated “notch”.

The illustrations suggest Apple is preparing to make its first major update to the TrueDepth camera system since it launched with the iPhone X in 2017. Prosser’s images suggest Apple will move the earpiece speaker above the notch to sit in the device’s bezel, allowing Apple to shrink the size of the TrueDepth camera system and surrounding area.

The CAD sheet shows the placement of the infrared camera, flood illuminator, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, front camera and dot projector.
