Apple to release new ‘AirPods Pro’ in late October, priced at $260 with noise-cancelation

As the likelihood of an October event fades, a new report claims Apple will release its rumored new ‘AirPods Pro’ in late October, featuring noise-cancelation, the “Pro” monike and a retail price of $260.

According to China Economic Daily, Apple’s third-generation ‌AirPods‌ will include a new in-ear design (as previously seen with leaked component images and an iOS 13.2 beta glyph) that will allow the AirPods to offer noise-canceling features, expected to be the flagship feature for the new earbuds.

Rumors have also suggested the next-generation AirPods could offer users waterproofing features as well as a new black color option.

Apple was widely believed to be planning an October media event that would see the company announce an all-new 16-inch MacBook Pro, updated iPad Pro models, the ‘AirPods Pro’, an enhanced Apple TV, and Apple Tag, the new physical item tracker Apple is rumored to be working on.

We haven’t yet seen official confirmation from Apple that an October event is happening, so the new AirPods could simply be released within a quiet update to Apple.com, similar to how Apple introduced the current-generation AirPods earlier this year. Apple may surprise us all later today or very early next week with an official event announcement, but as we get closer to the end of the month the likelihood of that happening is fading.

Concept images based on leaked AirPods components have given us quite a clear insight into what we can expected from the new earbuds.
