Apple releases macOS Mojave with Dark Mode, Desktop Stacks, and more

Apple has officially released macOS Mojave, the newest version of the operating system which powers its MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, iMac Pro, Mac mini and Mac Pro machines, putting a new system-wide Dark Mode, redesigned Mac App Store, Desktop Stacks and much more at the fingertips of its users.

Available now from the Mac App Store, the free update is full of new features to help you use your Mac more efficiently, including Desktop Stacks that helps you arrange files on your desktop by type, such as by date, or tag, Markup options when taking a screenshot, improved security and privacy and an easy-on-the-eyes Dark Mode.

One of the coolest new features in macOS Mojave is Apple’s new Dynamic Desktop. Now, when using one of Apple’s default macOS wallpapers you’ll see throughout the day the wallpaper will change its color dependant on the time of day. For example, in the morning your Mac wallpaper will show a location with the sun shining and blue sky, but as your day progresses into night, that same wallpaper will go dark, with clouds appearing in the sky and the sun disappearing… Take a look!

macOS Mojave now features some familiar iOS apps built-in to the operating system, including Apple News, Stocks, Home, and Voice Memos. The addition of the Home app on macOS means you’ll now (finally!) be able to control your smart home devices through HomeKit via Siri on the Mac, or via the dedicated Home app.
