Apple partnering with US carriers for free trial of 200GB iCloud storage

In a link first discovered on Reddit, customers upgrading their iPhone plans on one the the US’s four major carriers are recommended to visit a special iCloud link. The link then forwards users to redeem two free months of the 200GB iCloud storage plan.

Unfortunately not everyone is eligible. The offer is only available to new iCloud customers in the US. After the two months users are automatically charged at the normal $2.99/mo. pricepoint unless cancelled. If you’re eligible, you can actually visit the offer page here at this link.

This offer will help ensure that all of the users old data will be backed up entirely before moving over to their new iPhone.

iCloud first debuted in 2011 and offered everyone 5GB of storage for free and hasn’t been upgraded since. Apple also has been offering free 30-day iCloud trials since May so this offer isn’t anything new. Apple has mentioned previously that they’re trying to double their services goal and if people don’t cancel (or forget to cancel) after their free-trial, this may just help boost those numbers.
