Apple to release new dual-SIM iPhone model exclusively in China

Dual-SIM iPhone - China

Apple is reportedly planning on launching a new dual-SIM iPhone model in September that will be exclusive to customers in China according to reports from Taiwanese based Economic Daily News who cite sources from within Apple’s supply chain.

Informants from Apple’s primary iPhone manufacturer, Foxconn have said that a version of the forthcoming low-cost 6.1-inch LCD iPhone which is currently in production will be a “unique model for China”, supposedly supporting the ability for dual-SIM functionality that is popular within in the Asian market.

The report suggests only the low-end 6.1-inch iPhone model will receive support for dual-SIMs despite the fact that large sized smartphones are extremely popular in China. Reports have suggested that Apple could price the dual-SIM dual standby 6.1-inch iPhone at $650 to $750, while selling the single SIM model at a lower price, perhaps $550 to $650.
