Apple’s upcoming 6.1-inch LCD iPhone won’t come in red according to reports

Despite earlier reports, Apple apparently won’t be launching the highly rumored 6.1-inch LCD iPhone in red according to Japanese blog Macotakara who claim despite plans to launch the device in a handful of colours later this year, Apple will keep red exclusive to its’ special edition (PRODUCT)RED iPhone releases.

Although more reliable sources have claimed otherwise, the report from Macotakara does make sense considering Apple appears to be getting into the habit of releasing special (PRODUCT)RED iPhone models over the past two years. – Apple wouldn’t want a standard red finished iPhone to dampen or interfere with the release of a (PRODUCT)RED months later, would they?

Macotakara claim within their latest report that Apple will release the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone in the same colour options as the iPhone silicone and leather cases. That would mean white, black, flash yellow, bright orange, electronic blue and taupe.

Just like the iPhone X, the 6.1-inch model is said to feature a full edge-to-edge display with the same slimline bezels and TrueDepth Camera System to allow for Face ID, and of course Animoji and Memoji coming with iOS 12.

Apple was expected to launch a (PRODUCT)RED version of the iPhone X earlier in the year, however; only updates to the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus were released.
