Apple offering extra month of free Apple Music to old subscribers

Apple appears to be in the midst of contacting users who took advantage of its 3-month free Apple Music trial, but who didn’t choose to continue with a paid subscription by offering an extra month of free access to the music streaming service.

An increasing number of posts to Reddit revealed that Apple is sending emails to users who had never moved forward with a paid Apple Music subscription containing a unique code that allows them to re-join the service for a fourth month of free streaming.

Apple Music is on the verge of overtaking Spotify in the United States, with analysts predicting that Apple will have more active paid-accounts using their music streaming service than Spotify by as early as this summer.

Come see what you’ve been missing in the new Apple Music, like a simpler design that makes finding what you want, and discovering new music, easier than ever, says Apple’s email.

Reddit posts also reveal that Apple is sending out push notifications via the Music app to some users, again inviting them to take advantage of the offer. – It’s unclear if all users who never went ahead with a paid Apple Music subscription will eventually receive the code, or if Apple is simply trialing a re-subscription campaign before rolling it out further.
