Apple announces temporary closure of Palo Alto store

Apple on Monday announced the temporary closure of its flagship Palo Alto retail store that shall be closing its doors in “mid May” for an unspecified length of time to complete renovation works.

Contractors will be moving in as part of Apple’s strategy to “refresh” all of its existing retail locations across the globe, bringing most of the new features found within the company’s newly opened stores, including bright light boxes which extend the length of the ceiling, sequoia wood tables and shelves along the walls and new seating for personal set-up and Genius Bar customers.

Apple’s University Avenue in Palo Alto was often visited by the late Apple, co-founder Steve Jobs, and current CEO, Tim Cook, who visited the retail location to welcome the launch of the iPhone 7 and Apple Watch Series 2.
