Apple announces new (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus

Apple has officially announced a new, special edition (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus that will be available later this week. The new devices feature a black display and a striking red backing, complete with red buttons and matching camera cut-out.

Although Apple hasn’t introduced a new (PRODUCT)RED iPhone X, the company has released a leather folio case (as shown below) which is now available to purchase online for $99/£99.

Apple will donate a portion of proceeds from sales of the two new devices to RED, a charity Apple has partnered with since 2006 that has seen over $160 million to the Global Fund that aims to fight HIV/AIDS through testing, counseling, treatment and prevention programs.

This special edition (PRODUCT)RED iPhone features a stunning red and black color combination and also offers customers the opportunity to make an impact in fighting the spread of HIV and AIDS. – Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Product Marketing.

The new devices will be available to order online tomorrow, with the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus arriving into Apple retail locations and carriers from Friday 13th April. – Apple is releasing the handsets in 64GB and 256GB storage configurations.
