Apple Pencil reduced, now £89 in United Kingdom

Apple didn’t upgrade the Apple Pencil at their educational themed ‘Let’s take a field trip’ event on Tuesday, however, eagle-eyed reader of The Apple Post, Reece Harrison, has noticed that Apple has cut the price of the iPad accessory from £99 to £89 in the United Kingdom.

In the United States, Apple is offering a special educational discount for the Apple pencil, matching the UK’s pricing at $89, however, as confirmed in Apple’s press-release today the stylus will remain at $99 for regular customers.

Apple Pencil support is one of the biggest selling points to Apple’s new 9.7-inch iPad. The tablet features a 10 hour battery life, Touch ID, an A10 Fusion chip and a rear-facing 8MP camera. Today is the first time that Apple Pencil has been designed to work with any-other product apart from the iPad Pro. – Apple has announced new versions of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote will support Apple Pencil too.

Last year Apple started selling a refurbished version of the Apple Pencil for $85 in the United States, giving a $14 discount on the standard $99 charge for a brand new stylus.
