Concepts imagine new (PRODUCT)RED iPhone X

New concept images by iupdateos bring back to life Apple’s discontinued special edition (PRODUCT)RED iPhone first introduced last March to celebrate the 10 year anniversary between Apple and RED, the global charity fighting HIV & AIDS.

The striking new (PRODUCT)RED iPhone X concept features a black OLED display matching the current Space Gray and Silver handsets, however offers a deep dark red backing wrapping around the corners of the device and the rear camera cutout.

Last March alongside the launch of a new low-cost iPad, Apple launched a limited edition (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 that was later discontinued in September from both Apple.com and Apple retail locations. While official percentages whenever publicly shared, proceeds from sales of the handset were donated to the global RED fund.

The iPhone X is available exclusively in Space Gray and Silver, however, earlier in the week The Apple Post shared renderings of a rumored ‘Blush Gold’ iPhone. – Reports of a ‘Copper Gold’ iPhone X came in thick and fast in the run-up to the launch of the handset back in September, but those claims never materialised. One suggestion was that similar to the delayed launch of the white iPhone 4 in 2010, Apple wasn’t able to find the perfect shade of gold in time to release the handset.

Last year prior to the launch of the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 we heard rumors from within Apple’s supply chain & carrier network that a new device could be launching, however this year reports of a RED iPhone have been rather quiet. As suggested by iupdateos, it’s possible Apple could unveil the handset at their upcoming ‘Let’s take a field trip’ event scheduled to kick-off on Tuesday.
