Eurasian filings hint at two new iPad models launching soon

Apple appears to be readying two new iPad models for launch, with filings uncovered by French website Consomac showing model numbers A1893 and A1954, which don’t correspond with any current iPad mini, iPad, or iPad Pro.

The regulatory filings submitted to the Eurasian Economic Commission have unearthed the two new devices, raising suspicion and credibility on previous reports that Apple will release new hardware next month at some form of March event.

Alongside the two new iPads, Apple is expected to finally release AirPower and the new wireless charging case for AirPods according to a tipster at American retailer Best Buy who claims stores will begin stocking the two new accessories in late March.

The Apple Post reported in January that iOS 11.3 beta 1 code referred to a “modern iPad,” which is notable since Apple’s software engineers referred to the iPhone X as the “modern iPhone” prior to the devices official release.

Although it’s unclear if the new iPads discovered within the Eurasian Economic Commission filings will include Face ID authentication which is currently exclusive to the iPhone X, it is believed Apple will bring the feature to the tablet at some point this year.
