RAM, cameras, and processors for iPhone X discovered in iOS 11 GM

With all of the leaks coming out of the iOS 11 GM, we probably won’t even need Apple’s conference today. The software has now revealed to us what cameras and processors will be inside as well as how much RAM the new iPhones will be packing.

According to developer, Steve Troughton Smith, the iPhone 8 will feature 2GB, while the iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X will both feature 3GB. In comparison, the iPhone 7 Plus currently features 3GB of RAM while the iPhone 7 features 2GB. So it’s really not a huge upgrade.

Moving on to cameras, the iPhone X will feature a 12MP rear-facing iSight camera with support for 4K video at 60 FPS and 1080p video at 240 FPS. The front facing camera will be 7MP with support for 1080p video at 30 FPS. It was believed  earlier in the year that this camera would also support 4K video, but that appears to be false.

As with every new iPhone there comes a new A-series processor. The new A11 processor inside the iPhone X will have 6 cores- two high performance cores and four high efficiency cores.

Apple will be holding their annual press conference tomorrow at 10AM PST where we will see everything officially unveiled.
