Apple reduces the price of the iPod touch, removing old 16GB and 64GB models

Following the news Apple has quietly discontinued both the iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle, the company has now updated the iPod touch, removing the 16GB and 64GB storage capacities from the device, making the portable music player available in only 32GB and 128GB.

Storage aside, the internals of the iPod touch have not changed since the lines refresh in 2015. – The new iPod touch configurations are in stock on Apple’s online store in Silver, Gold, Space Gray, Pink, Blue, and Red.

Apple is now charging $199.00 for the 32GB iPod touch and $299.00 for the 128GB version.

The iPod category has been neglected over recent years, with Apple moving the iPod to their “Other Products” category since their 2014 quarterly earnings report.
