Hands on with Control Center in iOS 11

Apple has fully redesigned Control Center in iOS 11, putting an immense focus on 3D Touch and customisability. As shown in the video below, Control Center is now a full screen page that allows users to add as many buttons/controls to the panel as they wish by using the settings app on their iPhone or iPad.

By pushing down on the buttons in Control Center the user will see more precise and advanced features; for example, when a user force touches the Torch control a new slider with brightness levels will appear; or when they push down on the Camera button they will see buttons that control what type of image is taken.

Control Center is just one of the many new features found within iOS 11. Apple has new person to person ApplePay payments to an enhanced Siri and fully redesigned App Store. iOS 11 improves the Photos app by adding the ability to loop Live Photos, and to create long-exposure pictures as well as implementing a new compression method known as HEIF that offers higher quality images at half the storage size on devices. Maps has a new feature called Do Not Disturb While Driving that uses Bluetooth and a Wi-Fi doppler effect to automatically enable a block to stop notifications from disturbing the user while behind the wheel.

WWDC sees the introduction of  macOS High Sierra, watchOS 4 and updates to tvOS alongside new Mac and iPad hardware as well as an all new iMac Pro and HomePod home Siri speaker at WWDC. A public beta release of iOS 11 will be available in late June through the Apple Beta Software Program and the official version of the software is expected to roll out to the iPhone 5s and higher in September.
