New iPhone 8 design schematics show a vertical dual camera, Touch ID on the rear of the device and an aluminium casing

Surfacing on Twitter today, profound Apple leaker Sonny Dickson has shared what appears to be iPhone 8 design schematics that show a vertically-positioned dual-lens camera, a rear Touch ID sensor as well as an aluminium casing rather than a glass backing which was previously speculated.

The biggest thing that stands out to those viewing the schematics online is the repositioning of the Touch ID sensor which has been moved to the back of the handset. Previous reports show that integrating Touch ID underneath the display of the iPhone 8 proved to be to challenging for Apple and with time ticking before the device needs to enter mass production, it looks as if the problem has been solved by eliminating Touch ID from the front of the handset all together.

It’s worth pointing out that before sending a device into mass production Apple often creates a range of prototypes which never enter the hands of the public. It’s possible that this schematics relates to one of the models Apple is internally testing almost others.
