Apple is reportedly targeting a price of around $1,000 for its more advanced robotic HomeView, positioning the device far above the $299 HomeView that launches later this month.
According to The Information, Apple hopes to release the larger smart home device in 2027, although development could slip into 2028. The product has been referred to in reports as HomeView Ultra or HomeView Max, but Apple has not announced a final name.
The reported pricing would make the device one of Apple’s most expensive smart home products and more than three times the starting price of the current HomeView. Apple HomeView starts at $299 in the U.S. and £299 in the UK.
The Apple Post previously reported that Apple is developing a higher-end HomeView with a roughly 9-inch display mounted on a motorized arm capable of rotating through 360 degrees. The display is expected to turn toward whoever is speaking, rather than requiring users to manually reposition it. Our earlier report has more on the 9-inch robotic HomeView design.
The Information’s latest reporting adds a firmer indication of where Apple could position the product financially. At around $1,000, the device would be aimed at a very different buyer from the standard HomeView and would need to justify the premium with substantially more capable hardware and software.
The current HomeView combines a 7-inch Liquid Retina display, Siri AI, FaceTime, smart home controls and personalized experiences for up to six household members. The Apple Post’s complete HomeView guide covers the existing model in detail.
The robotic model is not expected to simply replace the first-generation HomeView. Instead, reports have consistently described it as a more ambitious premium addition to Apple’s growing home lineup.
That distinction matters because Apple is already selling both tabletop and wall-mounted HomeView models at the same $299 starting price, while the wall-mounted version becomes more expensive once its required mount is added.
Apple’s reported $1,000 target has not been announced publicly and could change before release. The company has also not provided pricing outside the United States for the unreleased device.
HomeView itself will begin reaching customers on November 13. Apple introduced the product in October as the centerpiece of its expanding smart home strategy.
