Apple’s HomePod mini 2 is now available, with the first pre-orders beginning to reach customers today and the new smart speaker arriving in Apple Stores.
Apple opened pre-orders for the second-generation HomePod mini on October 13 following its “Welcome home” announcements. The speaker is available in pink, green, blue, white and midnight, with Apple pricing it at $149 in the U.S. and £149 in the UK.
HomePod mini 2 introduces the S10 chip, enhanced audio experiences and support for Apple’s new Siri AI through a future software update. It can also be used in a four-speaker surround sound setup with the latest Apple TV 4K, alongside the existing stereo-pair and multiroom options.
Apple says HomePod mini 2 requires HomePod software 27.2. Siri AI will initially be available in English in the U.S., Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the UK when the feature arrives through a later free software update.
Pre-orders for HomePod mini 2 opened earlier this month, while The Apple Post also has a full guide to everything you need to know about HomePod mini 2.
