If you were hoping to order an iPhone Duo from Apple today, you may already be too late for a 2026 delivery, with shipping estimates for Apple’s first foldable iPhone slipping into January just minutes after pre-orders opened.
MacRumors reports that by around 5:30 a.m. PT — just 30 minutes after pre-orders began in the United States — Apple’s online store was showing January 25 delivery estimates across iPhone Duo configurations in both star white and night sky, including 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB models.
That means customers placing a new order through Apple in the U.S. could now be waiting more than three months for their iPhone Duo, well beyond the device’s official October 23 launch date. Delivery estimates can change as Apple adjusts inventory, cancellations are processed and additional stock becomes available, while availability may also differ by country and for in-store pickup.
The rapid slide into 2027 highlights the level of early demand for Apple’s first foldable iPhone. The Apple Store went offline ahead of pre-orders earlier today, with customers rushing to place orders when sales opened at 5 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. UK time.
The launch has not been entirely smooth. Some customers have reported slow Apple Store loading, checkout errors and failed reservation windows as demand hit Apple’s ordering systems during the opening rush.
The lengthy wait comes despite Apple reportedly increasing iPhone Duo orders ahead of launch. Apple was reported to have raised iPhone Duo supply-chain orders by 30% before pre-orders opened, although additional production does not necessarily translate into immediate launch inventory.
Apple had already warned customers to prepare early. Its Get Ready process allowed buyers to save their preferred configuration, payment details and trade-in information before pre-orders opened, with Apple setting a final deadline on Thursday night for customers wanting to streamline checkout.
iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 in the United States and £1,999 in the UK. Apple says the first pre-orders will begin arriving on Friday, October 23, when the device officially launches in more than 70 countries and regions.
