Apple retail stores in the U.S. will be able to personalize an iPhone Duo’s first startup so the device greets its buyer by name when it is switched on for the first time.
Mark Gurman said on X that Apple Stores will have a system capable of customizing the device’s boot experience, allowing a message such as “Hello, Mark” to appear when the iPhone Duo is turned on for the first time.
The feature will be limited to the U.S., available only for iPhone Duo, and support English and Spanish, according to Gurman.
The small retail touch adds another distinctive element to Apple’s launch of iPhone Duo. The Apple Post previously reported that iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 with pre-orders opening October 16.
Gurman did not detail how Apple’s in-store customization system works, beyond saying that it changes the first-boot greeting shown to the buyer.
