Apple has released the first developer beta of iOS 27.2 for iPhone, beginning testing of the next round of iOS 27 features just days after iOS 27 became available to the public.
The release is notable because Apple has moved directly to iOS 27.2 for general developer testing rather than first releasing an iOS 27.1 beta.
iOS 27.1 is expected to be associated with the iPhone Duo, which Apple says will be available in October. That may explain why Apple is keeping the 27.1 development branch separate while allowing developers to begin testing broader changes through iOS 27.2.
Developers enrolled in Apple’s beta program can access iOS 27.2 through the Software Update section of Settings on eligible iPhones with developer beta updates enabled.
The first beta includes several notable changes, including Apple’s redesigned Health app and expanded Siri AI language support. Apple is also testing new Apple TV profiles on iPhone and new developer features.
Apple has not announced a public release date for iOS 27.2. The update is expected to go through multiple rounds of beta testing before becoming available to all compatible iPhone users.
