iPhone Duo advertising begins appearing around the world ahead of October launch

Apple has begun rolling out advertising for iPhone Duo around the world, with new campaigns appearing in major cities and on public transport more than a month before the company’s first foldable iPhone reaches customers.

In New York, a large billboard promoting iPhone Duo has appeared with imagery showing the device both folded and opened, alongside the October 23 release date. The billboard also carries AT&T branding, highlighting the early carrier push behind Apple’s newest iPhone.

Advertising is also appearing in Japan. Images shared by Mac Otakara show iPhone Duo campaigns at stations on Tokyo’s JR Yamanote Line, including a large display carrying NTT Docomo branding. The Japanese creative focuses heavily on the two-screen design, showing the iPhone closed alongside its larger inner display.

The growing advertising presence suggests Apple and its carrier partners are beginning the wider marketing push for iPhone Duo well ahead of launch. The device was unveiled on September 9 and marks Apple’s first entry into the foldable smartphone market.

iPhone Duo features a 5.4-inch outer display and opens to reveal a 7.6-inch inner display, the largest display Apple has offered on an iPhone. It is powered by the A20 Pro chip and runs a version of iOS 27 designed to adapt apps and multitasking experiences to the foldable form factor.

Apple says iPhone Duo will be available for pre-order in more than 70 countries and regions from October 16, before arriving in stores and reaching customers on October 23. A further 28 countries and regions will receive the device from October 30.

With several weeks still to go before pre-orders open, the first wave of outdoor and transport advertising indicates iPhone Duo is likely to become a major focus of Apple’s global marketing throughout the run-up to launch.
