Trying to download iOS 27 but seeing a blank Software Update screen? You may not be doing anything wrong. With millions of iPhone users checking for Apple’s latest update around the same time, the Software Update page can temporarily fail to load or take longer than usual to show the new release.
Apple is releasing iOS 27 today, with the update expected to begin appearing at around 10 a.m. PT (6 p.m. in the U.K.). Availability can take time to reach every device, however, and heavy demand around a major iOS launch can mean the update does not immediately appear when you open Settings.
If the Software Update screen is completely blank, leave Settings, wait a few minutes and try again. You can also make sure your iPhone has a stable Wi-Fi connection before returning to Settings > General > Software Update. Restarting the iPhone can also help if the page continues to refuse to load.
Users who still cannot see iOS 27 should also check that their iPhone is compatible. The Apple Post has a full list of iPhones that support iOS 27, with the update available for iPhone 11 and newer compatible models.
If you have Beta Updates enabled, the options shown on the Software Update screen may also differ from those seen by users on Apple’s normal public software channel. You can check this under Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates.
There is no need to repeatedly refresh the page every few seconds. If Apple’s servers are under heavy load or the update has not yet propagated to your device, waiting a short while and checking again is usually the best option.
