The Passwords app in iOS 27 can do more than warn you when a login is weak or has appeared in a known data leak. On supported devices, Apple Intelligence can help change eligible passwords on your behalf.
Rather than sending you to a website and leaving you to navigate its password settings manually, the feature can handle supported password-change flows and save the replacement credential back to Passwords.
Automatic password changes are not supported by every website, and the Apple Intelligence feature requires compatible hardware and may vary by region or language.
How to fix a compromised password automatically in iOS 27
- Open the Passwords app.
- Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID or your iPhone passcode.
- Open the section showing security warnings or compromised passwords.
- Select a login that iOS says can be fixed automatically.
- Choose the option to fix or update the password.
- Review any permissions iOS requests, including temporary access to verification codes if the account uses two-factor authentication.
- Follow the on-screen prompts while iOS changes the password.
- Confirm that the updated credential has been saved in Passwords.
For accounts that are not supported, Passwords will continue to provide the relevant website link so you can change the login manually.
