Apple is reportedly preparing its most substantial redesign of the iPhone Pro lineup in a decade, with the company’s 20th anniversary iPhone models expected to introduce a dramatically different appearance in 2027.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says the next-generation Pro models will feature curved glass around all corners and edges together with thinner bezels.
Gurman describes the planned design as the biggest overhaul of the iPhone Pro line since the iPhone X, setting the stage for a major change as Apple marks 20 years since the original iPhone was introduced in 2007.
The iPhone X represented one of the most important design changes in the product’s history, replacing the familiar Home button with an almost edge-to-edge OLED display, introducing Face ID and establishing the basic design language that has evolved across subsequent generations.
Apple’s reported 2027 redesign could represent another significant break from the current formula. Curved glass extending around the corners and edges, paired with narrower bezels, would allow the display and enclosure to appear more seamless than today’s flat-sided iPhones.
Reports surrounding Apple’s 20th anniversary plans have repeatedly pointed toward the company pursuing a more glass-focused design, although the exact branding of the devices remains unclear. They could arrive as successors to the iPhone 18 Pro lineup or potentially adopt different naming to mark the anniversary.
The redesigned Pro models are expected to form part of an unusually busy iPhone roadmap for Apple, alongside the company’s expanding foldable lineup and a new release schedule that separates different iPhone models across the year.
