How to add divider lines in Notes on iPhone with iOS 27

iOS 27 adds another formatting option to Apple Notes, giving iPhone users the ability to place divider lines between different parts of a note.

A divider can make longer notes easier to scan by visually separating lists, headings, ideas or other blocks of information without needing to add rows of symbols or blank spaces.

Divider lines can be inserted anywhere within a note and become part of the note’s formatting.

How to insert a divider line in Notes on iOS 27

  1. Open the Notes app.
  2. Create a new note or open an existing one.
  3. Place the cursor where you want the divider to appear.
  4. Open the editing menu.
  5. Tap Insert Divider Line.

A horizontal divider will appear at the selected position. You can add multiple dividers throughout the same note to separate different sections of information.
