Apple is set to report its fiscal third-quarter 2026 financial results today, marking the end of an era as Tim Cookprepares to lead his final earnings call as Apple’s CEO before stepping down from the role later this year.
The earnings report, which will be released after the US stock market closes, will be followed by Apple’s quarterly conference call with investors and analysts. It will be Cook’s last as chief executive before John Ternus officially succeeds him as CEO on September 1, with Cook transitioning to the role of Executive Chairman.
Cook has led Apple since 2011, taking over from company co-founder Steve Jobs. During his tenure, Apple has introduced products including Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple Vision Pro, and Apple TV+, while expanding its services business into one of the company’s largest sources of revenue. Under Cook’s leadership, Apple also became the first publicly traded company to reach $1 trillion, $2 trillion, $3 trillion, and, briefly this month, $5 trillion in market value.
Earlier this week, Cook described the handover as going “over the top great,” calling Ternus “the perfect person” to lead Apple. Ternus, who has spent 25 years at the company and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering, will become only the fourth CEO in Apple’s history.
