Anthony Head, the actor best known to many viewers for his role as Rupert Mannion in Apple TV+ hit Ted Lasso, has died at the age of 72.
His family confirmed that he passed away peacefully following complications from pneumonia, surrounded by loved ones. In a statement, Head’s daughters, actresses Emily and Daisy Head, described their father as an “extraordinary” man whose work touched audiences around the world.
Head joined Ted Lasso in 2020 as Rupert Mannion, the former owner of AFC Richmond and ex-husband of Rebecca Welton. His portrayal of the charismatic but manipulative character quickly made him one of the show’s most memorable figures.
