Apple’s next-generation Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini are reportedly ready to launch, but the company is waiting for its new personalized Siri features before unveiling them.
According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the new devices have been finished “for months” and are already being used internally by employees at Apple Park.
“I am told the hardware for the next Apple TV set-top box and HomePod mini has been done for months and that both devices are already in active use among employees at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California,” Gurman said.
The delay is reportedly tied to Apple’s more personalized Siri experience. Apple has been working on a major overhaul of Siri powered by Apple Intelligence, and Gurman says the company wants the new software to be ready before introducing the updated hardware.
Apple CEO Tim Cook recently reaffirmed during the company’s Q2 2026 earnings call that a more personalized Siri is still on track to launch this year. Reports suggest the upgraded assistant will be more conversational, more aware of personal context, and capable of handling more complex requests than the current version.
WWDC26 is set to begin next month on June 8, where Apple is expected to unveil iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, tvOS 27, and visionOS 27. Previous reports have suggested Apple will place a major focus on artificial intelligence, including upgrades to Siri, new Apple Intelligence features, and expanded support for third-party AI services such as Google Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude.
Apple is also rumored to be introducing new AI-powered photo editing tools in iOS 27, a new “Create a Pass” feature for the Wallet app, and broader improvements aimed at performance and stability.
While WWDC traditionally focuses on software, Apple has occasionally used the event to introduce new hardware. With both the Apple TV and HomePod mini reportedly complete, there is a possibility Apple could preview the devices during the keynote, particularly if they are designed to showcase the next generation of Siri and Apple Intelligence.
Neither device is expected to receive a major redesign, though both are rumored to feature faster chips and improved wireless capabilities. The next Apple TV is also expected to include Apple’s new in-house networking technology, while the HomePod mini could gain support for additional smart home features.
