Apple is planning a small upgrade for Genmoji in iOS 27, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, with the feature set to gain AI-generated suggestions based on a user’s photo library and keyboard history.
In his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman said Apple is working on new “Suggested Genmoji” that are “created from your photos and your commonly typed phrases.”
Genmoji were introduced as part of Apple Intelligence, allowing users to create custom emoji-style characters using text prompts directly from the keyboard. The feature can generate unique emoji based on descriptions, people, outfits, moods, or situations, giving users more personalized reactions and stickers for Messages and other apps.
