Future MacBook Neo could feature touchscreen, analyst says

A future version of Apple’s newly announced MacBook Neo could include a touchscreen, potentially becoming one of the first Mac laptops to support touch input, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Apple introduced the MacBook Neo earlier this week as its newest entry-level Mac. Starting at $599, the laptop features a 13-inch Liquid Retina display, the A18 Pro chip, and up to 16 hours of battery life, positioning it as Apple’s most affordable Mac notebook.

MacRumors recently revisited a report Kuo shared last year in which he predicted that Apple’s low-cost MacBook, now known as the MacBook Neo, would enter mass production in the fourth quarter of 2025 and would not include a touchscreen. In the same report, however, Kuo also outlined early expectations for the second generation of the device.

According to Kuo, the next-generation MacBook Neo could introduce a touchscreen display, something Apple has long avoided on the Mac.
