Apple releases watchOS 26.2.1 with AirTag 2 Precision Finding support

Apple has issued watchOS 26.2.1, a minor update to its latest Apple Watch software.
The release comes around six weeks after watchOS 26.2 and focuses on support for the newly announced AirTag 2.
The update enables Precision Finding for AirTag 2 directly from compatible Apple Watch models, including Apple Watch Series 9 and later, and Apple Watch Ultra 2 and newer.
Until now, Precision Finding for AirTag has been limited to the iPhone.
It is not yet clear whether the feature will also work with the original AirTag, or if it is exclusive to the second-generation model.
watchOS 26.2.1 also includes general bug fixes, according to Apple’s release notes.
Users can install the update through the Apple Watch app on iPhone by going to General and Software Update, or directly from the Settings app on the watch. The device must have at least 50% battery and be placed on charge before the update can begin.
