Apple has released its 2025 holiday ad, A Critter Carol, a short film set in a snowy forest that follows a group of woodland animals who gather around an iPhone 17 Pro to record a song about friendship.
The ad centres on the iPhone’s video capabilities. It also features the Find My app on Apple Watch. After the animals finish their recording, the film cuts to the device’s owner, who realises the iPhone is missing and uses his Apple Watch to locate it. He eventually arrives at the forest and discovers the animals’ performance saved on the device.
Apple says the critters — including a raccoon, bear, owl, deer and squirrel — were created as handcrafted puppets, designed specifically for the production.
Alongside the main film, Apple has released a behind-the-scenes video showing the production process and confirming that the short was shot entirely on the iPhone 17 Pro.
