Apple releases visionOS 26 with spatial scenes, enhanced Personas and PlayStation VR2 support

Apple has released visionOS 26, its biggest update yet for Apple Vision Pro. The software brings immersive new features for photos, widgets, video and gaming, alongside upgrades to Apple Intelligence.
Widgets are now spatial, appearing directly in a user’s environment and reappearing every time they put on Vision Pro. They can be customised in size, colour and depth, with options ranging from Weather and Music to Photos and Calendar.
Vision Pro owners can now share spatial experiences with others in the same room — watching films in 3D, playing games or collaborating on projects. Remote participants can also join via FaceTime.
Personas have been overhauled with more natural skin, hair and detail. Apple says the new system makes avatars feel more familiar and expressive.
Photos gain a new generative AI feature that transforms pictures into lifelike spatial scenes, adding depth and multiple perspectives. Safari now supports spatial browsing with 3D models embedded directly into web pages.
visionOS 26 introduces native playback of 180-degree, 360-degree and wide field-of-view content from Insta360, GoPro and Canon.
The update also supports PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers, enabling more immersive gameplay with motion tracking, finger touch detection and vibration feedback.
New enterprise tools allow businesses to create secure spatial apps, manage shared devices and integrate accessories like the Logitech Muse.
Apple Intelligence expands to Vision Pro with updates to Image Playground and broader language support, including French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Spanish.
visionOS 26 is available now as a free update for Apple Vision Pro.
