CarPlay added to Geely EVs through new software update

Chinese automaker Geely has introduced Apple CarPlay support to its EX5 electric SUVs through a recent over-the-air software update.
CarPlay now appears on the EX5’s large 15.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, allowing drivers to seamlessly access their iPhone apps, navigation, and media while on the road.
Apple CarPlay offers a safer and more convenient way to use iPhone functions while driving. With CarPlay, drivers can make hands-free phone calls, send and receive messages via voice commands, access music and podcasts, and get real-time navigation through Apple Maps or other supported GPS apps.
Geely has delivered over 2,300 EX5 electric SUVs to customers in Australia this year, as part of its broader global expansion strategy. The company has also entered multiple emerging markets, including New Zealand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Greece, while growing its presence in European countries like Poland, Italy, and the UK.
The carmaker has confirmed that Android Auto is coming via an over-the-air update in the first quarter of 2026, and that future models, including the new Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid SUV, will come with wireless Apple CarPlay as standard.
