Woman dies with 26 iPhones strapped to her body

Police in Brazil have launched an investigation after a woman was found dead on a bus with 26 iPhones strapped to her body.
Emergency responders were called to the scene as the woman was traveling through Guarapuava, in the southern state of Paraná. According to reports from the Daily Mail, the woman began showing signs of distress during the journey and later died despite efforts to revive her.
Witnesses said she initially struggled to breathe and exhibited signs of convulsions. Paramedics attended to her on the bus, but she suffered a cardiac arrest. Attempts to resuscitate her continued for 45 minutes but were ultimately unsuccessful.
Military Police later confirmed that 26 iPhones had been glued to the woman’s body. Forensic teams from the Scientific Police and Civil Police were dispatched to the scene. A sniffer dog was used to search for drugs, but no narcotics were found. However, bottles of alcohol were discovered in her luggage and seized by authorities.
The iPhones have been handed over to Brazil’s Federal Revenue Service as part of the ongoing investigation.
At this stage, police have not released the woman’s identity or clarified whether she had any known connections to smuggling. The cause of her death and the reason for the phones being attached to her body remain under investigation.
