Instagram’s latest change could put your posts all over the internet

Instagram has announced that starting July 10, 2025, public photos and videos from professional accounts may start appearing in search engine results on platforms like Google and Microsoft Bing.
The update is aimed at making it easier for people to discover professional content outside of Instagram, potentially helping creators, businesses, and other professional users reach a wider audience.
Instagram has clarified that only content that is already public will be included, and private accounts are not affected.
For those who would rather not have their public content show up in search results, Instagram has made it easy to opt out. Users can go to their Account Privacy settings and switch the feature off at any time.
The change is automatic for professional accounts with public content, but Instagram says the decision to stay searchable is entirely up to the account holder.
