Apple launches Self Service Repair for iPad

Apple has announced that it is extending its Self Service Repair program to include iPad, offering owners access to repair manuals, genuine Apple parts, Apple Diagnostics troubleshooting sessions, official tools, and rental toolkits.
The initial rollout covers iPad Air (M2 and later), iPad Pro (M4), iPad mini (A17 Pro), and iPad (A16). Users can order replacement components such as displays, batteries, cameras, and external charging ports directly from Apple.
Launched in 2022, Self Service Repair gives technically proficient consumers the same repair manuals, genuine parts, and tools used by Apple Store technicians and Apple Authorized Service Providers. Apple emphasizes that the program is designed for “individual technicians with the knowledge and experience to repair electronic devices.”
“For most users, visiting a professional repair provider with certified technicians who use genuine Apple parts remains the safest and most reliable way to get a repair,” Apple added, underscoring that Self Service Repair is best suited to those confident in their repair skills.
With the addition of iPad, the Self Service Repair Store now supports 65 Apple products, including the recently released iPhone 16e, MacBook Air, and Mac Studio. This summer, Canada will become the 34th country in which Apple offers Self Service Repair.
