Apple promoting today’s #AppleLaunch with special X (Twitter) hashflag

Ahead of a special announcement, which Apple CEO Tim Cook teased would reveal the “newest member of the family”—believed to be a new low-cost iPhone, potentially called the “iPhone 16E” or “iPhone SE 4”—Apple has added a hashflag on X (formerly Twitter), which appears on posts using the #AppleLaunch hashtag and features a special Apple logo.

Apple is no stranger to hashflags. All of its recent announcements have included event-themed hashflags on X, which appear whenever a user tweets using the corresponding hashtag.

The new iPhone is expected to closely resemble the base model of the iPhone 14. Rumored features for the upcoming device include a 6.1-inch OLED display and Face ID. The iPhone SE 4 is also expected to feature a USB-C port.

On the camera front, the new device is rumored to include a single 48-megapixel rear camera, a significant upgrade over the current model’s camera. Additionally, the new iPhone will likely be powered by a newer A-series chip and include 8GB of RAM, enhancing performance and supporting Apple’s AI features. The iPhone SE 4 is also expected to be the first device to feature Apple’s custom-designed 5G modem, which should improve network speeds and overall connectivity.
