All-new M5 iPad Pro to enter mass production late next year, analyst suggests

Apple’s all-new iPad Pro, powered by the next-generation M5 processor, is set to enter mass production in the second half of 2025, according to industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Writing in a Medium post, Kuo stated that China’s BYD Electronics will act as the primary assembler for the M5 iPad Pro. Additionally, BYD will exclusively handle the production of Apple’s upcoming HomePod with a built-in display, which is expected to launch in late 2025.
The current iPad Pro, featuring OLED displays and the M4 chip, debuted in May 2024. For the M5 series, Apple has reportedly placed chip orders with TSMC, which will use its 3-nanometer process technology to manufacture the processors. While there was speculation that Apple might adopt TSMC’s more advanced 2nm process, the company is said to have opted for 3nm due to cost considerations, as reported by MacRumors.
Despite this, the M5 is expected to deliver substantial performance improvements, including advancements enabled by TSMC’s System on Integrated Chip (SoIC) technology.
