Apple launches 2024 Back to School promo, offering up to a $150 gift card with eligible purchases

Apple has launched its annual Back to School promotion for college students in the United States, offering a free Apple gift card with the purchase of an eligible Mac or iPad. This year’s promotion also includes a 20% discount on AppleCare+ plans for students.

MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, or iMac purchases come with a $150 gift card. iPad Pro or iPad Air purchases (with M4 or M2 chips respectively) come with a $100 gift card. Mac mini purchases come with a $100 gift card.

The gift cards can be used towards purchases of Apple products and accessories, App Store apps, subscriptions like Apple Music, iCloud+ storage, and more. The offer is available through Apple’s online education store, Apple Store locations, and is open to students attending or accepted to higher-education institutions, faculty, staff, parents buying for students, K-12 institution employees, and select others.

This promotion is valid until September 30 in the U.S. and is complemented by Apple’s standard educational discounts of approximately 5% to 10% off most Macs and iPads. Similar promotions have launched in Canada, India, and possibly other countries, with expected availability in Europe and additional regions in the coming weeks.
