Apple says May 7 ‘Let Loose’ event will be ‘a different kind of Apple Event’

Apple has teased that its upcoming “Let Loose” special event on May 7 will be “a different kind of Apple Event” amid rumors that the showcase, taking place hours earlier than previous events have been scheduled for, will be accompanied by an event in London, England.

Scheduled to be held online, the event will commence at 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET. Anticipated highlights include the unveiling of new iPad hardware and accessories, including the rumored iPad Pro, iPad Air, Apple Pencil, and Magic Keyboard.

In a post on Facebook promoting the special event, Apple has said “We’re drafting up something special for you. Join us on 7 May at [7 a.m. PT/10 a.m] on apple.com for a different kind of Apple Event.”

The Independent reported last week that Apple will stream the launch as a live video around the world, but it will be accompanied by an event in London, which may explain the unusually early launch.

Apple’s next-generation iPad Pro is rumored to be powered by the M4 chip, with the device slated to feature new OLED displays, offering a better viewing experience over LED on the current-generation models thanks to several advantages in display quality including a larger color range and high contrast levels, better handling of darkness and lighting precision, and fast response times.

Initially, rumors pointed to the 2024 iPad Pro lineup potentially reaching a hefty $2,000 price tag, particularly for the largest model. However, a subsequent report refutes these earlier claims, suggesting a more moderate price adjustment. Instead, indications point towards a relatively modest uptick in pricing, hovering around $160 above the current models, which currently commence at $799 and $1099 respectively.

Rumors suggest that the 2024 iPad Air will be available in two sizes: 10.9-inches and 12.9-inches.

The device is expected to feature a redesigned rear camera layout, with both the camera and flash housed in a protruding rectangular module, similar to that seen on the iPhone X.
