Apple had added its third-generation AirPods to the official Apple Certified Refurbished online store, taking $30 off the regular price of the earbuds for the first time.
As noted by iPhone in Canada, never before has Apple sold AirPods through the online Apple Certified Refurbished, with customers able to choose from models with the MagSafe Charging Case, or those with a regular Lightning Charging Case, which are almost identical to new.
Apple says the AirPods undergo a “rigorous refurbishment process” prior to sale, which includes full functionality testing, a thorough cleaning process and inspection.
The third-generation AirPods were announced in December 2021. The earbuds boast an AirPods Pro-style design, spatial audio support, sweat and water resistance, and more.
Offering an extra hour of battery life over the previous generation, the third-generation AirPods offer up to six hours of listening time and up to four hours of talk time. The new AirPods use computational audio to bring similar audio experiences found on the AirPods Pro and AirPods Max — like Adaptive EQ and spatial audio with dynamic head tracking.
