Twitter has announced that it is taking its redesigned version of TweetDeck out of preview after nearly two years, with the revamped dashboard available now for all users until the end of July, when the tool will be paywalled, requiring a paid Twitter Blue subscription to access it.
TweetDeck is a popular Twitter-owned tool used by businesses and content creators to schedule tweets, view notifications, access direct messages and more. A redesigned version of the tool was previewed in 2021, boasting an overhaul “from the ground up” including a full tweet composer, advanced search, new column types, and a new way to group columns.
A tweet from Twitter’s support account on Monday confirmed that in 30 days, users must have a Twitter Blue subscription to continue using TweetDeck.
The move to paywall TweetDeck comes days after Elon Musk introduced new limits to the number of tweets users can read, with paying verified subscribers able to see a higher number of posts compared to those who don’t subscribe to Twitter Blue.
