Apple has quietly expanded the availability of its next-hour precipitation notifications feature in the Weather app to users in Australia, offering alerts when it is forecast to rain in a user’s location.
Pulling data from the Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, the new feature will provide next-hour precipitation forecasts and precipitation notifications to users on iOS.
Apple launched next-hour precipitation notifications in the US in 2020, and later in the UK in 2021.
The feature shows users a minute-by-minute precipitation chart based on a precise location.
