Unreleased MagSafe Battery Pack and MagSafe Charger referenced in iOS 17 beta code

Apple’s developer beta of iOS 17 has seemingly outed two new, unreleased MagSafe accessories, with Apple researcher @aaronp613 on Twitter showing screenshots with code referencing a new MagSafe Battery Pack and MagSafe Charger.

The code reveals a new MagSafe Battery Pack with the model number A2781, and a new MagSafe Charger with model number A3088.

It isn’t clear what’s new with the updated accessories just by the references found in the first iOS 17 developer beta, however, the references could be for new MagSafe chargers that support USB-C, with the current MagSafe Battery Pack and MagSafe Charger using Apple’s proprietary Lightning connector, which is rumored to be dropped from the iPhone lineup this year with the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro.

Respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported last year that he believes Apple would release new versions of its AirPods charging case, MagSafe Battery Pack and Magic Keyboard, all of which would replace the Lightning connector with USB-C.
